I hadn't really thought much about having a doula before I met Tanya. This was my second baby, and I knew I didn't want to have an epidural this time like I did with my first. Also, my Mom wasn't going to be able to be with my husband and I in the delivery room like she was the first time. We decided that the extra support would be very important to us, and I felt that having Tanya with us would be my best bet to help me to stick to my plan to go without an epidural. Her hands on support and knowledge in the delivery room helped me have the confidence I needed to do just that. My husband and I have already talked about hiring Tanya the next time we are expecting."

this being my first child having her by my side definitely made mine a lot better I was vary pleased I loved that my birth plan was followed and if anything was changed she would give me info on what the doctors/ nurses were asking of me she would also kindly remind me if it was in my birth plan or not it really helped me to make decisions during my labour

I can’t even begin to describe how valuable Tanya was to us during the late stages of pregnancy, the birth, and the newborn stage. This was my first birth, my husband and I were not locals, we had tons of questions and Tanya supported us incredibly throughout each phase. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Tanya again for my next births and really can’t imagine going through it without her. She was incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging, faithful and supportive. The story of Tanya's role in our lives starts with our first birth experience. We had the privilege of receiving care from a newly trained doula. She volunteered to be a support to me in the hospital. Since that experience, my husband and I deeply valued the role of a doula. We were given Tanya's name and I decided to meet her. Our first coffee was in a cozy Starbucks. She was friendly and warm. She asked me questions about my previous birth. I cried while telling the story becuase it wasn't what I had wanted. I had felt like my wishes were not respected by the health care professionals. I was exhausted and unable to advocate for myself and my birth team didn't know how to support me fully. While I talked, Tanya felt my pain and never once diminished me or my feelings. She thoughtfully asked questions and allowed me space and time to think and research my options. She lent me books from all sorts of perspectives and I was able to strengthen myself for the coming birth.

My desire was for an empowering birth where I remained in control of my decisions. Tanya was calm and confident that I would be able to achieve the birth of my dreams. Throughout the labor she was prepared for every situation. She held space during the labor and brought peace to my entire support team. Somehow over the course of three unique births she changed and grew with me. As I became more confident in who I was as a birthing woman, she expanded her scope to grow with me. Our first birth with Tanya was a beautiful dream come true. Each subsequent experience has been just as empowering as I had always hoped. She never pushed me to have the birth that she was most comfortable with. She met me where I was at each time and participated without bias or assumption. Tanya leaves all of her life's burdens at home and enters the birth space with hopeful expectation, peace, and confidence. My birth team most appreciated her knowledge and experience because they were able to fulfill the roles that most suited them. We all love Tanya deeply. She has become part of the fabric of our lives and has made it richer for knowing her.

"Where do I start? Tanya is simply amazing!! I didn't call upon her until I was 37 weeks 3 days. I was at my wits end and just exhausted from being pregnant, with a 3.5 year old running around at home and already having contractions for the past 2 weeks, I didn't know what else to do! My friend referred me to her and we went from there! I had a same day appointment and we sat down and talked about everything, including my birth plan and what I wanted to have during labour anddelivery. (This was all on a Thursday). Friday night my contractions started and this time it was for real! I didn't know that at first so I laboured all night at home. 5am came and I decided to was time to go to the hospital. I messaged Tanya at 9:30am, just after they broke my water and she came to the hospital. She laboured with me and I couldn't have asked for anyone better to be there! I had my fiancé and my mom there as well, but having that extra person made the world of a difference. I had back labour the whole time which made labour extremely hard and painful. I spent 95% of my labour in the shower and Tanya spent about half of that time with me in the shower. My fiancé couldn't last the whole time in the hot shower with me so it was amazing to have Tanya there to switch with! Before you knew it, I was pushing! Tanya was VERY supportive on what I wanted and made sure the nurses new my birth plan and the 'no drugs policy' I had. She was a support for my mom, my fiancé and most importantly, me. I will definitely be using her services with any future pregnancies that I may be blessed with. She's a one of a kind lady and I'm so grateful to have had her there for me. I got amazing photos out of it as well, that I would have never got if it wasn't for her! Oh and her cookies are freaking delicious!! I definitely recommend Tanya 110%!"A Happy Parent, Bow Valley

"I recently had my second baby and had Tanya as my doula for the second time. I can't even begin to describe how grateful we are to have had Tanya with us to welcome baby number two to the world. My births were very different from each other, so even though I had done it before, it was still very new in a sense. Tanya brings such a calm energy to the birth space from the moment she walks in the door. She is the perfect blend of gentle when you need it, but at the same time is unafraid to push you when you need a little extra help and motivation to keep going. She's so respectful of what her clients want for their births. She helped me explore my options and make a plan for the birth that was right for me and this baby. Tanya was also fantastic support for my husband; she is very in tune with what mom needs and helps dad help mom.

​I am continually in awe of how great is the God we serve. He Who formed us, Who has written Good Books (our destinies etc) about all of us, He Who sent His only begotten Son to us as the ultimate gift of love so that we may choose to live eternally with Him. He Who sent us His Holy Spirit to be our guide, our counsellor, our Best Friend to lead us ALWAYS into All Truth. Our Absolutely Good Father in Heaven set everything up, by divine orchestration and connection, prepared my heart and mind for a home birth and brought forth questions for me to ponder, answers to those questions, resources, provision, support and everything I needed from the space in which to birth, the timing of it all being on a long weekend so my husband could more easily devote time and focus from running a business, two wonderful Spirit lead doulas to support us in the whole process, to bring more understanding on the process in the hospital if we chose or if it was necessary to go that way... every detail was covered and we were supported every step of the way.
We are so thankful and grateful to Tanya (and thankful to God for choosing her to help us!) for her dedication to our wellbeing and diligently and lovingly supporting us through the whole process. She prayed with us and was sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit which is KEY. When we are connected in Spirit and Truth, and partnering with God who always has our best at heart and wants the best of the best for all of us, His perfect plan is revealed. Partnering with Him, saying YES to Him, in relationship with Him and being lead by His Spirit makes ALL the difference. With angels carrying the atmosphere of Heaven, we welcomed our beautiful healthy son into this world. How beautiful it is to be encouraged and not pressured or on someone else’s timeline.
I celebrate my first birth at the “age” of 37! Praise God! I carried well and was 100% healthy throughout (following His leading of certain supplements to take and what not to take which is just as important), we had a joyful homebirth with homeopathics, in the hottest day of the year, a wonderful husband to support, excellent doulas, and a healthy baby who entered this world silently (not crying) and an amazing community to come help with clean up etc. I encourage you to see in your imagination your birth as a celebration and a joy and not a scary or arduous process. Partner with Him Who made you and Knows ALL- He knows everything about you and is a Miracle Working God and is only limited by our small thinking and what we will allow Him to do.
Tanya has a wonderful passion for what she does and I have found in my life experiences that having a passion for what one does is KEY. Tanya was with us by our side morning and night as I laboured 33 hours total, trusting in the process. Our bodies know what to do. God designed them to the smallest detail and intelligence. She was very thorough and we are blessed to have her as an important part of our first birth. I am happy to help and encourage anyone who has any questions!😊❤️
